Job Placements for Summer Jobs at Y.O.U.
dallascollege.edu
The number of and what type of tasks exist?

The variety of jobs depends upon readily available funding and on the company partners who have actually registered to be worksites.

Y.O.U. works with numerous companies and worksites throughout the County each summer season to host youths.

The most typical summer season jobs are within the profession clusters of hospitality & tourist such as custodial, food service, and events or human services with positions like junior camp therapist, recreation help and nonprofit support.

Most worksites are with non-profit organizations, cities, schools, and retail businesses in The Greater Cleveland area.

Our worksites require standard entry-level skills. Examples of responsibilities are clerical, light cleaning, painting, gardening, computer input, filing, and answering telephones.

To be considered for any task, you still need to use and finish the eligibility determination process.

However, using does not guarantee you a task. There will be a lot more applicants than there are tasks.

Just how much does it pay?

The rate of pay is $13.50 per hour and will have opportunity to work between 20 and 25 hours weekly.

Do I earn money for holidays?

No. We ask our company partner worksites not to schedule youth individuals on Holidays.

Youth will just be spent for the hours in fact worked.

Will there be a background check or a drug test?

Some work projects may require one or both. Y.O.U. or the company will cover the expense.

You will understand whether or not this is needed at Orientation or in the past.

How will I know whether or not I work?

Applicants who are picked to participate in an eligibility decision consultation will speak with Y.O.U. in between April and May. A parent/guardian should attend this visit and complete the paperwork to be set up for an orientation.

Exists a waiting list for jobs?

Yes. If there are more eligible youth than the variety of available jobs or financing, your name might go on a waiting list.

As more tasks and/or funding appear, qualified waiting list youth will be arbitrarily chosen based upon either the requirements of extra financing or on proximity to brand-new worksites.

Do I still have to total orientation if I am on the waiting list?

Yes. The schedule of additional jobs and/or funding frequently takes place quickly. To make sure that you are ready for work at a minute's notice, you should finish your scheduled orientation.

Remember, each youth should effectively complete each of the following steps to be thought about for the Summer Youth Employment Program:
