Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have actually been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These kinds of items being offered, usually online, have actually undergone no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
